First off, Congratulations on a well fought and well deserving victory to President-Elect Barak Obama, I expect great things from you. As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I believed that either candidate would be an asset to this county. As a libertarian I tend to agree with each of them about 50% of the time.
The time for us to look to those friends we disagreed with during this past year and see that one thing we have in common, that we all love America. This love may've caused us to be angry, with and argue with our friends on the other side of the spectrum, it's time for that has passed. We must look to those folks we disagree with, to find that commonality. In these times of economic challenge it's time to come together as a nation, as that is the only way America can be great again.
Some fear the President-Elect will only represent a group of this country. Some feel he will be the president of the Liberals or the Large Cities, or the Democrats or the African Americans. I believe that the President-Elect will be the president of us all. Where I can guarantee I will disagree with him 50% of the time, I do believe he will consider my opinion before he takes action. He seems to be that kind of man who, when he encounters a different point of view, tries to understand that POV. I think he does this for 2 reasons. He knows that if he's right encountering a difference of opinion won't change him. He knows that if someone persuades him differently he will be a better man because of it. He knows that changing your mind when presented with superior information isn't flip-flopping, it's logical and reasonable.
I am truly looking forward to this next phase of American History. God Bless us and God Bless America.

It is a great relief to many Americans that we now seem to have a chance to have sanity and intelligence return to national governance, after a long eight years of none. I have been remarking to people that I figured GW would be bad and he far, far exceeded my worst expectations. Since that was possible (low expectations, worse than expected performance) it is possible the opposite could be true - high hopes resulting in better than I could have wished for.
Of course, we will have to see what happens!
